Trump’s ‘deal of the century’ hasn’t a hope of bringing peace | Yehuda Shaul

Nothing short of ending ending legal discrimination will make a difference to Israel and Palestine, says former IDF commander Yehuda Shaul Here in Jerusalem, we await publication of Donald Trumps picture posted by Uri Karzen, a leader in the Israeli settler community in the West Bank city of Hebron. The picture showed an iftarcelebration in Hebron attended by both Israeli settlers and a few Palestinians. We are laying the groundwork for peace, wrote Karzen. 30 Landscape Paintings Framed By Nature And Aaron Schuerr

Aaron Schuerr has many descriptions to his name: artist, writer, actor, husband, and father. And while all have a certain distinction to them, one of those connects him to other people on a much deeper level. Art is what Schuerr uses to translate the experiences of nature to other people. “Though painting is largely a solitary endeavor, it is never a lonely one because I am invited to share in the ineffable mystery of beauty,” he explains. Schuerr’s artwork encapsulates the beauty of nature, portraying various landscapes in vivid colors and combinations. The artist juxtaposes his pieces to the subject which in his work becomes a frame, a perfect background that seamlessly blends with art to create one breathtaking image. …

Michael Cohen Told Congress A Trump Lawyer Urged Him To Lie About Moscow Project

Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, told congressional lawmakers earlier this year that Jay Sekulow, another lawyer working for the president, instructed him to lie about the timeline surrounding negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.  February and Sekulow pushed the January date, Cohen claimed to lawmakers, because it was a “good time” for the Moscow project to have ended, just as the caucus and primary voting in the ’16 presidential race was about to begin. The battle for the GOP nomination was up for grabs at that point, whereas Trump had emerged as the race’s clear winner by June. House lawmakers voted to release Cohen’s full testimony on Monday. Sekulow’s attorney’s That the Intelligence Committee of any congressional panel …

In a world that pushes kids too fast, let’s let childhood linger a little longer.

My 11-year-old daughter plops down next to me on the couch, curling her legs up into a ball. She says nothing, but her furrowed brow makes it clear something is bothering her. “What the matter?” I ask, praying it’s not something horrible. (I always pray it’s not something horrible.) She takes a deep breath as her eyes fill with tears. “Everything is changing,” she says. “Everybody’s growing up . . . and I’m not ready yet.” Oh, my sweet girl. I remember having this same conversation with her older sister at this age. My kids have deeply cherished their childhoods. They lament when they feel time accelerating, their bodies transforming, their friends moving away from imaginary games and shared childhood …

Romney disagrees with GOP congressman’s conclusion on Trump’s ‘impeachable conduct’

Washington (CNN)Sen. Mitt Romney said Sunday that he disagrees with Rep. Justin Amash on the Michigan Republican’s recent comments that President Donald Trump’s conduct has met the “threshold for impeachment.” “I just don’t think that there is the full element that you need to prove an obstruction of justice case,” Romney said. “I don’t think impeachment is the right way to go.” On Saturday, Amash, a frequent Trump critic, said his thorough review of the Mueller report led him to conclude the President engaged in “impeachable conduct.” He was the first Republican to express support for impeachment. In a series of tweets, Amash also argued Attorney General Bill Barr initially misrepresented Mueller’s findings, echoing a top complaint from congressional Democrats. …

Woman Shares Abortion Story After Psycho-Ex Got Her Pregnant To Lock Her In To Show The Other Side Of Anti-Abortion Laws

In a thread, the young woman shared her own personal abortion story she had when she was 17-years-old and it shows another side of possible results of hardlines laws like the one Alabama just passed. Brie explained that she had become pregnant when she was 17-years-old as the result of her boyfriend at the time, poking a hole in his condom. This practice is called ‘reproductive coercion.’ This type of sexual abuse can take many forms such as:  threatening to leave unless the woman becomes pregnant, threatening to have a baby with someone else if she doesn’t comply, physically abusing a woman because she does not agree to pregnancy – and in the case of Brie – tampering with birth control …

Extremely Rare Sea Creature Fossil Found Trapped In 99-Million-Year-Old Amber

An “extremely rare” marine organism discovered in a 99-million-year-old piece of amber is helping researchers put together what ancient ecosystems once looked like during the time of the dinosaurs. The fingernail-sized ammonite was found in a hunk of amber along with at least 40 other individual organisms that once lived on land or in the sea during the mid-Cretaceous period. Related to modern squids, the spiral-shelled ancient predator is a rare example of sea life trapped in amber that is only produced by trees on the land. “Aquatic organisms are rarely found in amber, but when they occur they provide invaluable evidence for the better understanding of amber taphonomy and past ecosystems,” wrote the authors in the Proceedings of the …

European Researchers Present Sharper 3D View Of Antarctica

The amount of ice at the poles and in glaciers around the world has shrunk dramatically over the last few decades due to climate change. The ice loss will become more and more prominent as temperatures continue to rise but to accurately predict the specific changes we need precise data. With that in mind, researchers from the University of Edinburgh wondered if they could improve on the data collected by the European Space Agency’s satellite CryoSat. They were able to reprocess observations collected since 2010 and dramatically improve the resolution, delivering CryoSat’s sharpest 3D map of Antarctica yet. The results were presented this week at the Living Planet Symposium in Milan, Italy. CryoSat carries a radar altimeter that is used to measure …

3 Sunscreens That Aren’t Bad For You Betches

Attitude Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 BeautyCounter Counter Sun Mineral Sunscreen Mist SPF 30 I know I’m going to crush a lot of souls here, particularly that of middle aged dads everywhere, but spray sunscreens are the worst culprits of the chemical sunscreens. Again, not only do you have to worry about the chemicals soaking into your skin, you also need to worry about breathing them in as well. *Sigh* Must everything in life we love be so bad??? Well, fortunately, no. Switch to a different type of spray sunscreen, such as the one above from BeautyCounter, which is a non-aerosol mineral mist, to help prevent a lot of those potential health risks while still protecting your skin.

Human atrocity doesn’t start with violence. It starts with prejudice and propaganda.

Not very many things scare me, but extremism in every form does. We hear a lot about the extremism of radicalized Islamic groups, and yes, such groups are worrisome. But labeling an entire religious group with more than a billion followers as dangerous because of the heinous actions of its most radical minority element is also extremism and needs to be called out as such. We hear about child traffickers trying to smuggle children across the border, and yes, those people are worrisome. But making sweeping generalizations about migrants from south of the border and putting asylum seekers into the same category as human traffickers is also extremism and needs to be called out as such. When we don’t recognize …

UK to scrap passenger landing cards

The Home Office had agreed to scrap them for seven countries, including the US and Australia, from June, but has now decided to go further. ‘Only record’ A document from officials to Border Force staff, seen by the BBC, says much of the data collected by paper landing cards will soon be available digitally. It adds that the withdrawal of the cards will enable staff to “focus more on your interaction with passengers”. But Immigration Service Union general secretary, Lucy Moreton, accused the Home Office of “ignoring” warnings from experienced staff as to the longer-term impact of getting rid of landing cards. She said that the union had been assured that scrapping them would not happen until new technology was …

Trump tweets that he favors exceptions to abortion bans

(CNN)President Donald Trump favors exceptions in abortion bans, he tweeted Saturday night. In signing the measure into law, Gov. Kay Ivey said it might be unenforceable, but it is aimed at overturning Roe v. Wade. That’s the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion nationwide. Other states have passed anti-abortion bills in recent weeks. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp this month signed into law the so-called “fetal heartbeat” bill. It generally would ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. That can happen as early as six weeks, before many women know they are pregnant. Woman stumbles upon ‘world’s worst straight dude Tinder bio’ and it’s a doozy.

via Shutterstock If you’re a human with a pulse, you’re no doubt familiar with the pitfalls of Tinder and similar dating apps. Despite your attempts to use the service in good faith, there will always be other fish in the dating sea that spoil the experience — or at least memorably mar it. The nightmare parade begins as you swipe through and learn how other people see themselves — or at least how they want others to see them. The short list of ‘masculine’ activities men claim to engage in — game day with my bros, Bloody Mary brunch with my bros, camping and pissing on trees with my bros — to woo the fairer sex becomes boring quickly. Are …
